One sunny day, he spotted a big, muddy puddle in his yard. “Yippee!” shouted Gus. “I’m going to jump in that puddle!” Gus put on his bright red boots and ran toward the puddle. His friend, Bud, saw him from the swing. “Wait for me, Gus!” Bud called, swinging high. Gus waited. “Come on, Bud! It’s fun!” Bud jumped off the swing and ran to join Gus. Together, they stood at the edge of the puddle. “On the count of three, let’s jump!” said Gus. “Okay!” Bud nodded. “One… Two… Three!” They both jumped into the muddy puddle. Splash! Mud flew everywhere! “Look at us!” Gus laughed. “We’re muddy buddies!” Just then, a little dog named Pup came over. He tilted his head and barked, “Woof! What are you doing?” “We’re having a muddy fun time!” Bud said, splashing more mud. Pup wagged his tail. “I want to join!” Gus and Bud laughed. “Okay, Pup! Jump in!” Pup jumped right into the puddle, sending mud flying. They all rolled and played until they were covered in mud from head to toe. After a while, they decided it was time to clean up. “Let’s go back to my house,” said Gus. “We can wash off in the tub!” When they got to Gus's house, his mom chuckled at the sight of the muddy friends. “Oh my! What happened to you three?” “We had the best fun in the puddle!” Gus exclaimed, grinning. His mom smiled and filled the tub with warm water. “Alright, muddy buddies, it’s bath time!” After their bath, Gus, Bud, and Pup sat together on the porch, drying off in the sun. “That was the best day ever!” Bud said. “Let’s do it again tomorrow!” Gus replied, his eyes sparkling with excitement. And so, every sunny day, they would jump in the puddles, making more muddy memories together. The End

Every Halloween a young witch travels to cozy Halloween neighborhoods to trade out candy for a toy. This year there are more kiddos trading in their candy than ever before! 2nd Grade Version To understand why the American Revolution happened, we need to look back at the years from 1754 to 1763. During this time, the British and the French were fighting in a war on land that is now part of the United States. This war is called the French and Indian War. The British wanted to control more land, and the French wanted to keep their land. Many Native Americans chose to help either the British or the French during this war. In 1759, British soldiers went to a city called Québec in Canada and won a big battle there. They took over another city called Montréal the next year. After that, there weren't many big battles left between the British and the French in North America. The fighting mostly stopped by 1763 when a peace agreement called the Treaty of Paris was signed. Why did the British start taxing the colonists, and why did this make them mad? The British government made laws and taxes that affected the colonists. Many colonists felt proud to be British, but they believed they had rights that the king should protect. They didn't like the Stamp Act, which was a new tax. In Virginia, some leaders, called the House of Burgesses, said that the British Parliament shouldn’t be taxing them. In 1765, the prime minister of Britain was George Grenville. He created the Stamp Act because he needed money to pay for British soldiers in North America. He thought the colonists should help pay for these soldiers who were protecting them. At first, the British leaders were surprised by how upset the colonists were. Grenville did not listen to their complaints and was eventually replaced in 1766. A leader named George Washington fought in the French and Indian War along with the British. He helped lead soldiers against the French. He became a well-known leader and was even elected to help make laws in Virginia.

Carly-Rae is a young ballerina recieves an invitation to practice. But when she shows up it ends up being football practice and she gets all bent out of shape. But I keep showing up. Eventually I start realizing I have to get some sort of padding, so I make some out of stuff i have at home and it works for a bit but doesn’t hold up very well. And I kind of figure out how to get by in the game. Eventually tho it just gets to be to much and the padding breaks down and I just stop showing up. That’s where I am now. Just hiding. But eventually the ballerina will figure out how to just do ballet in the football field
