The first day of art class is always exciting, but for many students at Tech Valley Elementary, this year’s start was extra special. They were about to meet Mrs. B, the new art teacher known for her creative spirit and warm heart.

As the students walked into Mrs. B’s Creative Studio, they were greeted by a room filled with colorful art supplies, inspiring artwork, and a cheerful atmosphere. Mrs. B, with her bright smile and enthusiastic energy, welcomed each student with a warm hug and a kind word.

“Welcome to my Creative Studio!” Mrs. B said with a twinkle in her eye. “This year, we’re going to explore art in new and exciting ways. Each of you will have the chance to create, discover, and share your own unique talents.”

To kick off the year, Mrs. B announced their first project: “The Dream Catcher Collage.” This project was designed to help each student express their hopes and dreams while getting to know one another.

Mrs. B explained the steps for the Dream Catcher Collage:

The students eagerly began their collages, sharing their dreams and ideas with Mrs. B and each other. Some dreamed of becoming astronauts, others wanted to create amazing art, and a few wished to help animals. As they worked, Mrs. B encouraged them, saying, “Remember, your dreams are like stars in the sky—each one is special and adds to the beauty of our world.”

By the end of the class, the Dream Wall was adorned with vibrant and imaginative dream catchers, each one reflecting the students’ hopes and aspirations. Mrs. B admired their work and said, “Your dream catchers are wonderful! They remind us that each of us has unique dreams and talents. Let’s work together this year to help each other’s dreams come true.”

The students left the Creative Studio feeling inspired and excited about the year ahead. They knew that with Mrs. B’s guidance, they would explore their creativity and support one another in achieving their dreams.

1.  John Jr and Yuēhàn found a book on the Vietnam War and The Civil Rights Movement.
2.  Yuēhàn read to John Jr that The Vietnam War was a long conflict in Southeast Asia. It began in 1954, after the country of Vietnam was split into two parts, North Vietnam and South Vietnam. North Vietnam wanted to reunite the country under Communism, its political and economic system. South Vietnam fought to keep this from happening. The United States helped South Vietnam, but North Vietnam won the war in 1975. Soon Vietnam was a united, Communist country.
The Vietnam War had a huge cost in human lives. More than 1.3 million Vietnamese soldiers and about 58,000 U.S. troops were killed. 
3.  Yuēhàn also read  In 1954, the Supreme Court ruled unanimously in Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka that racial segregation of children in public schools was unconstitutional. This case was a cornerstone of the Civil Rights Movement. The main aim of the civil rights movement was to give everybody equal rights regardless of color skin color, gender, nationality, religion, disability or age. The aim of the movement which peaked in the 1960's was to ensure that the rights of all people are equally and are protected by the law.

The Curious Starship Adventure”

Once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away, there existed a tiny starship named Stella. Stella wasn’t like other starships—she loved to explore and ask questions. Her metallic hull sparkled with curiosity.

One day, Stella’s navigation system malfunctioned, and she found herself lost near the Nebula of Whispers. The nebula was known for its mysterious secrets and enchanting glow. Stella’s circuits buzzed with excitement.

As she ventured deeper into the nebula, Stella encountered peculiar creatures: the Luminae. These glowing beings danced around her, leaving trails of stardust. Stella asked, “Why do you glow?”

The Luminae replied, “We absorb cosmic knowledge and share it through our light. Curiosity fuels our radiance.”

Stella’s curiosity intensified. She asked about wormholes, black holes, and quasars. The Luminae happily explained, and Stella absorbed their wisdom.

But then, a cosmic storm brewed. Stella faced swirling winds and electric currents. She asked the Luminae, “How can I survive this?”

Their answer surprised her: “Trust your instincts. Sometimes, curiosity leads to survival.”

Stella navigated the storm, zigzagging through lightning bolts. She emerged on the other side, her hull charged with newfound energy. The Luminae cheered.

Stella returned home, her circuits humming contentment. She shared her adventure with other starships, inspiring them to embrace curiosity.

And so, Stella became the guiding star for young explorers, reminding them that curiosity could light up the darkest corners of the universe.

The Curious Starship Adventure”

1.  John Jr and Durga learned about the Armor of God at Bible Camp.  They wanted to learn more and asked the camp counselor for more information.
2.  John Jr and Durga found the verse about the Armor of God in Ephesians 6:10-18.  They decided to break the verse down to better understand it.
3.The verse started out  "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the [wiles of the devil. "  John Jr asked Durga if he knew how to be strong in the Lord.  Durga said that Your spirit thrives on being connected to the earth, the world around you and to others.
3.   Then John Jr explored the meaning of the verse , "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of ]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."  Durga didn't understand the Flesh and blood part.  John Jr explained that the battle is spiritual, not physical. He says that the enemies we face are not people or objects, but rather an unseen spiritual enemy. 
4.  The last part of the verse is "Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."  John Jr told Durga that they needed to stand against evil by Being  Strong in the Lord., Standing on God's Word, 
Don't Lose Heart and Standing in Faith.
5. John Jr and Durga decide that they would try putting on the armor of God by reading and praying God's word, and remembering that God's righteousness protects them, and that they can have faith in his promises.  John Jr and Durga decided that their daily practices would include prayer, scripture study, journaling, acts of kindness, exercise, and associating with friends of high standards

ARMOR OF GOD

1. Linette's loving and supportive mother , Lily, is encouraging her to join a competition.

2. Lily does not want to join the competition because she thinks she is not good enough.

3. Lily told Linette that she is wrong and she knows that Linette will be the best singer in their whole jungle in the future.

5. but Linette said that she's happy singing just for her mom.

6. While Linette and her mother Lily are going for a fly, Lily got shot by a human hunter.

7. Before passing away, Lily says to her daughter Linette that her last wish is for Linette to pursue her dreams of being the best singer in their whole jungle.

8. After the Lily died, Linette was not going to do her mother's last wish at first but she saw a lot of signs that she should do it

9. and so she did. she joined the competition.

19. Linette was so nervous but she remembered her mother that thought her that it's okay not to win

20. Linette did not win first place but still got a place. With this, she becomes motivated and more confident.

HE TOLD HAZEL HE WILL PUT SOME CREAM ON HER BITES AND THEY WILL FEEL BETTER. HE BEGAN TO EXPLAIN TO HAZEL ABOUT THE ANTS AND HOW THEY ARE NEEDED ON EARTH. HAZELED NODDED WITH A SMILE AND STATED THAT SHE WILL BE MORE CAREFUL AND TO LOOK OUT FOR THE ANTS.

Page 1: Osh, Ish, and XL joined Jesus as He spoke with religious leaders. "Why are they arguing, Mom?" Osh whispered, feeling confused.
Page 2: The leaders questioned why Jesus' disciples didn't wash their hands before eating. "Don't they know that's important?" Ish wondered aloud.
Page 3: Jesus replied that it's not what goes into the mouth that defiles, but what comes out of it. "It's about what we say and do, not just washing up," XL explained.
Page 4: Later, a Canaanite woman approached, begging Jesus to heal her daughter. "She's suffering so much," Ish said, her heart aching for the woman.
Page 5: Jesus initially seemed to ignore her, but the woman persisted. "She really believes Jesus can help," Osh noticed, impressed by her faith.
Page 6: Jesus, testing her faith, said He was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel. The woman humbly replied even dogs eat crumbs from the master's table.
Page 7: Impressed by her faith, Jesus granted her request. "Even though she wasn't Jewish, Jesus helped her," Osh observed, realizing compassion has no boundaries.
Page 8: Later, a large crowd gathered, and Jesus healed their sick and suffering. "So many people are hurting," Ish whispered, overwhelmed by the sight.
Page 9: Jesus then miraculously fed over four thousand people with just a few loaves and fish. "How can he feed so many with so little?" Osh gasped, his mouth wide open in amazement.
Page 10: "It's a reminder that God can do anything, even the impossible," XL said, her voice full of wonder.
Page 11: On their way back, they discussed how important it is to have faith and show kindness to everyone. "It's not enough to just follow rules," Osh said, recalling the Pharisees.
Page 12: Back home, Osh and Ish tried to be more compassionate and understanding, realizing it's what's in our hearts that truly matters.
