One day there was this kid named Xayden. Xayden went to the park one day and wanted to shoot some basketball. There was one issue though, he wasn’t very good at basketball. In fact Xayden wasn’t good at all. Some other guys saw him missing and started laughing at him. They made fun of him and started calling him names. When they left, a kid named Blaise went over to Xayden and asked him if he wanted help to get better at basketball. Xayden was lit up with joy and immediately said yes! Xayden did some drills with Blaise and started making his shots. After working with Blaise almost every shot seemed to go Xaydens way. The next day, the same guys that were making fun of Xayden came back to the park. Xayden wanted to show them how good he was, so he asked them if they wanted to play a game. Xayden was obliterating them , doing behind the back, in between the legs, shooting threes, layups, and making all of them! Xayden and Blaise ended up winning and one of the guys even ran away. The other guy couldn’t except defeat and said “ Well…well… I’m still better than you!”. Xayden became a great basketball player.

Maman : “Elle utilisait son courage et son intelligence pour gagner.” 11. Maman : “Notre île a eu Ranavalona I, une reine qui a résisté aux Européens. Elle voulait que Madagascar reste libre et indépendant.” 12. Samir : (fier) “Donc, elle protégeait Madagascar comme une héroïne ?” 13. Maman : “Exactement.” 14. Maman : “Shaka Zulu a changé la façon de faire la guerre en Afrique du Sud. Il a créé de nouvelles armes et stratégies pour protéger son peuple.” 15. Samir : “Il devait être super malin !” 16. Maman : “Nzinga, reine d’Angola, a mené des batailles contre les Portugais et a négocié pour protéger son peuple.” 17. Samir : “Elle n’a jamais abandonné ?” 18. Maman : “Jamais.” 19. Tuffy was a great dog. he was actually part of the family. Every evening when we ate, he was always sitting beside the table waiting on his portion of the food. He was our friend and adventurer. He would go with Rusty every day and deliver newspapers and always walk Rusty and Lisha to the bus stop. When the bus came home, he came running to walk with us back home. Everyone in the neighborhood loved Tuffy. He would go to the Wertz's house and they would give him snacks. He did this all over the neighborhood. Rusty's parents had a creek in their backyard and Tuffy loved to play in the creek. Tuffy had 2 great dog friends, Flury and Clementine. They woiuld play together for hours. When Tuffy would go off for a few days and then come home, Mother would fuss at him and Tuffy acted like hje knew what she was saying. Tuffy was the best!!
