A New Friend
Where Does My Worm Go?
Sydney found a little green worm on her bedroom window. She was excited and decided to keep it as a pet. She gently placed the worm in a jar with some leaves. Every day, she checked on her new friend and felt happy.

One morning, Sydney noticed something strange. The worms were missing from the jar! In its place was a single wad of cotton. Sydney called her worm and searched the house.

Sydney was upset and went to find her brother, John. She cried and told him about the missing worm. John listened and gave her a hug. He explained that the worm had turned into a cocoon.

John told Sydney that the caterpillar was safe inside the cocoon. He explains that soon, the caterpillar will become a butterfly. Sydney was amazed and felt a little better. She watched the cocoon curiously.

Sydney checked the jar every day, waiting for something to happen. She was excited to see what the butterflies would look like. John reminds her to be patient. Sydney can't wait to see her friend again.

One day, the cocoon began to move. Sydney and John watched closely. Slowly, a beautiful butterfly emerged. Sydney was overjoyed to see the transformation.

John explained that the butterfly needed to be free. Sydney felt a little sad but understood. She opened the jar and watched the butterfly flutter its wings. It flew out into the open sky.

Sydney waved goodbye to the butterfly with a smile. She was proud to have helped it grow. John told her she did a great job caring for her friend. Sydney felt happy and knew she would always remember her special worm.
